We are moving again – our new building in the ERBA area in Wangen was finished in May and offers space for up to 250 employees. The highlight is the large roof terrace with a view of the State Garden Show.
In September, the third Wangen Automotive Symposium took place on the topic of Inverter Trends & Technology. International guests from the aerospace, automotive and racing sectors as well as from research took part and enriched the day with presentations and exciting discussions.
Another reason to celebrate: 10 years AVL SET. The anniversary also took place with many guests in September 2022.

The number of employees working for AVL SET has grown up 140 people, each and every one being fully committed to our vision and mission.
Groundbreaking ceremony for the new building – the room capacity is being tripled! The planned move takes place in the first quarter of 2022.

As of July 1, 2019 SET Power Systems GmbH becomes AVL SET GmbH. Since our foundation in 2012 we have already been a “Member of the AVL Group”. As a joint venture with the AVL List GmbH, headquartered in Graz, we benefit from AVL’s global presence and market-leading position in the field of test systems for the automotive sector.

SET Power Systems GmbH is founded as a joint venture between the Wangen based SET GmbH and the AVL List GmbH. The team consists of five employees.
First Power-HiL test systems (based on SiC) for testing high-voltage inverters go into operation at customers’ sites (automotive, R&D).
For the automotive industry, the understanding of “functional safety” is stipulated by ISO 26262. In the aviation industry we have used this methodology for decades, considering all the requirements of software development and appropriate test procedures. We are now making this experience available for the automotive industry too.

First established in the development of the Airbus A380, our new test methodology is considered groundbreaking: With the virtual e-motor, we bring the test bench into the laboratory.
Foundation of SET GmbH out of Horst Hammerer Engineering, supporting the aerospace industry with testing solutions. The company will later enter into a joint venture with the Austrian based AVL List GmbH.
